Nuvue vs Seismic for medical device companies

Seismic is the largest platform in the category, and after merging with Highspot in August 2026 it serves around 2,500 customers. If you are a MedTech company weighing it up, the question is not which platform has more. It is which one is shaped like the way you sell.

Who each is for

Seismic is built for enterprises. Nuvue is built for MedTech companies of 5 to 200 reps.

Seismic does content governance, analytics and enablement at a scale almost nobody else reaches. If you have thousands of sellers, multiple business units and a team whose job is running enablement, it is a serious platform and you should take it seriously.

Nuvue is a different shape. It is built only for medical device companies, and it is designed around the full arc of how a device gets sold and supported: winning the client with the Win Engine, knowing what is working with the Know Engine, and supporting the customer afterwards with the Grow Engine.

Most of our clients run between 5 and 200 reps, and share content with thousands of customers. Almost none of them have a person whose job is running software. That is what the platform is built around.

Across the sales cycle

Where the difference actually shows up

Feature for feature, Seismic matches or beats most of what Nuvue does. The difference is what happens across a MedTech sales cycle, and what you have to own to make it work.

Getting the client

What a rep can actually send

Seismic sends a branded page holding your content, or a tracked link to a single file. Nuvue sends that too. It also sends the presentation itself, as a mobile-responsive page a rep can text from a hospital corridor.

Seismic can deliver something similar, but it is made somewhere else. Their integration partner puts it plainly: create with one tool, deliver with Seismic. You build the piece in a separate design product, download it, and import it into your Seismic library. In Nuvue every presentation is responsive because that is simply what the system outputs.

Both platforms control what reps can change. Neither lets a rep rewrite a clinical claim. More on how that works in the Win Engine.

Supporting the client

The portal is another product

Seismic documents rooms for a deal and training for your reps. Neither is a portal for the people who bought your device.

Their buyer-facing pages are built around a deal: a branded space for one opportunity. Their training product is positioned for sales reps, SDRs and support teams. Both are strong at what they do. Neither is a place where a hospital sends its new theatre staff to learn a device eighteen months after purchase.

In MedTech the sale is the beginning. Training the practice, onboarding new staff and keeping a customer current runs for years. That post-sale work is what the Grow Engine exists for, and it is included.

Seeing what worked

One dashboard instead of two systems

Seismic's analytics are excellent, and probably deeper than ours. They track every interaction with content, including how long a buyer spends on each page. What they cannot show is your pipeline, because Seismic does not have a CRM. Their own materials describe the Salesforce integration as essential.

Nuvue has the CRM inside it, so a sales manager opens one dashboard and sees rep activity, content performance and deal stage together. That is the Know Engine.

The honest trade: if you already run Salesforce with years of customisation, that consolidation is not worth tearing out. Nuvue has no data connection to an outside CRM, so most teams in that position run Nuvue as the content and enablement system and keep their CRM for deal records.

Questions buyers actually ask

Before you decide

Is Nuvue a Seismic alternative?

For a MedTech company of 5 to 200 reps, usually yes. Seismic is built for very large enterprises with complex content governance, and it is genuinely good at that. If you have thousands of sellers and a dedicated enablement function, Seismic is the stronger choice and we would tell you so.

What does the Highspot merger mean for a buyer today?

Seismic completed its merger with Highspot on 18 August 2026, creating a company serving around 2,500 customers and 3.5 million users under the Seismic brand. Both companies said the platforms will continue to be supported. That is a reasonable commitment, but anyone signing a multi-year contract now is buying into a platform integration that is still in progress, and that is worth asking about directly.

Do we have to replace Salesforce?

No. Nuvue includes a CRM built for device sales cycles, and most growing MedTech companies standardise on it. Worth knowing the reverse is not true of Seismic: their own materials describe the Salesforce integration as essential because most of their customers run Salesforce, so a Seismic deployment generally assumes you already own and administer a CRM. Nuvue does not connect to an outside CRM, so if you are committed to Salesforce, teams typically run Nuvue as the content and enablement system alongside it.

Can Seismic do customer portals after the sale?

Not that we could find documented. Seismic covers buyer-facing rooms for an individual deal, and training built for your own reps and support teams. What we could not find is a product for giving a customer's own staff ongoing access to training and updates at scale. If that matters to you, ask them directly rather than taking our word for it. In Nuvue that portal is part of the system.

Can Seismic send a mobile-responsive presentation?

It can deliver one, but it is built elsewhere. Seismic's interactive format is created in a separate design product and then imported into the Seismic library. Their integration partner describes the workflow as create with one tool, deliver with Seismic. That is a reasonable way to work, and worth asking Seismic directly whether that second tool is included in your licence or priced separately. In Nuvue there is no second tool: every presentation is responsive because that is what the system produces.

What if we need content to expire on a set date?

Seismic can do that and Nuvue cannot. Seismic files carry an expiry date and there is a documented workflow for managing expiring content. Nuvue takes a different approach: one controlled version of every asset, updated everywhere at once. If your compliance process depends on dated automatic expiry, that is a real point in Seismic's favour.

How much does Seismic cost?

Seismic does not publish list pricing. Third-party data from Vendr, across 411 purchases, puts the median at about $31,950 a year within a range of $9,000 to $178,390. Nuvue publishes its pricing on the pricing page: $2,950 to onboard, then monthly licensing based on team size.

What happens to the content we already have?

We rebuild it. That is what the managed service means: our creative team takes your existing decks and materials and builds them into the system during onboarding. Seismic runs a partner network of consulting and design agencies for that work, which you contract and pay for separately.
